About

Our Mission:

To support the trans community in Boise and the surrounding area through music, art, and social connection.

Right now, our community needs all the love and support possible, and we are here to help.

All donations and proceeds are added to a collective fund that is available to any trans person within the community struggling to meet their needs, whether those be healthcare, housing, clothing, or anything else.

To get involved or for help and support, please reach out via Instagram, email, or by joining our Discord server.

WE ARE HERE FOR YOU AND WE LOVE YOU!

FAQ

1. What sort of events does the Boise Trans Collective put on?

BTC puts on a variety of events, ranging from clothing drives to community picnics. We greatly value feedback, and try to structure our events to fulfill the needs and wants of the community while staying within the abilities and time restraints of our organizers.

Recurrent BTC events include our trans support group at the Boise Hive, and our queer musician’s meet-up.

Examples of other events we’ve done:

  • Live music
  • Potlucks
  • Art markets
  • Trans secret santa
  • And more!

If you would like to collaborate with us on an event, or have an idea for one, please reach out!

2. What sort of support can I get from the Collective?

We provide a variety of support, depending on the resources we have available. This includes help with rent and medical bills, answering gender-affirming care questions, and connecting you with an ever-growing community of other queer folks.

Our biweekly trans support group occurs every other Friday at the Boise Hive (check our calendar to confirm, as dates may change due to holidays or scheduling conflicts).

We maintain a resource locker located in NW Boise that is available by-appointment.
Here, we have secondhand-clothing (including binders), injection supplies, hair and beauty products, and more, available to anyone.
To set-up a time to visit the locker, contact us via email or Instagram.
We can also arrange a drop-off or meet-up for specific items upon request.

If items available in the locker do not meet your needs, we are more than happy to discuss purchasing items such as binders, tucking underwear, medical supplies, or other gender-affirming care items for you.

If you are in need of financial aid, please reach out via email, Instagram, or Discord.
While we are happy to help when we can, BTC is not an emergency-response group, and replies may take 2-4 business days.
Priority is given to those in the Treasure Valley, but aid may be distributed to anyone in Idaho on a case-by-case basis.

3. Who is BTC for?

Trans people.

If you consider yourself under the trans umbrella - including non-binary, agender, bigender, and genderqueer folks - this means you.

We do not expect a “proof of transness,” and leave it up to the individual to decide if that includes them.

4. How can I help?

If you want to get involved, join our Discord server where we coordinate volunteer activities, or keep an eye out on our socials for calls for volunteers.

If you want to donate binders, clothes, make-up, or other goods, reach out via email or Instagram to coordinate drop-off/pick-up.

You can also donate directly to the Collective here.

5. Where do donations go?

Boise Trans Collective is completely volunteer-ran.

All funding goes towards financial aid, event support, or organizational maintenance (such as website hosting costs, event application fees, and replenishing supplies in the resource locker).

For more information on our financial transparency, reach out via email, or see our monthly financial recaps on Instagram.

6. How do I book with BTC as a band or musician?

Thanks for thinking of us!

Unfortunately, we have pivoted to focusing on community events and are no longer booking shows.

We’re forever grateful to all the wonderful bands that played our shows over the years, and thank you for supporting us with your time and talent!

7. When is the Collective’s next event?

Check out our events calendar to see what we have coming up next.

8. Who runs the Boise Trans Collective?

Though most work is done by a group of core organizers, we are often supported by wonderful volunteers, and are also always happy to uplift anyone who wants to spearhead an event or project using BTC resources - we are a collective, after all!

Community events are most-often planned and organized by Paisley Davis and Idris Aylin.

Our finances are managed by our Treasurer, Valerie.

This website and associated resources is managed by Paisley, who you can reach out to via the BTC email, or paisley@transboise.org.

9. Is the Boise Trans Collective a non-profit?

Yes! As of December 2024, we are a registered 501(3)(c) non-profit.

All donations made to BTC are tax-deductible. Please reach out via email if you need proof of donation.
